¶ Supported Features
This is the device setup guide for the Red Box Deux By Innovo. The Red Box is a smart garage door opener that can operate MyQ compatible doors without the need for the MyQ cloud.
The device uses our Garage Pro driver to install an Input and Output components.
Input is for sensor
Output is for trigger control
¶ Red Box Deux Instructions
The Installation is Five Main Parts.
- Program the builtin RF remote for the garage door frequency
- Program the Garage Doors to receive from the Red Box
- Connect Open/Close (Reed) Sensors and HT sensor if required.
- Configure the smart triggers using the Shelly App
- Add the driver to Nice to make it work seamlessly
¶ Part 1. Programming Built-in RF Garage Door Opener.

We use Button 1 and Button 2, (3 is not used)
¶ Program Remote buttons
¶ Follow the procedure below to Program Button 1
- Hold Button 2 & 3 Together for about 3 seconds until the Red LED lights up.
- Now press Button 1 according to the table below. Make to match the color of your learn button. For example if your learn button is Purple, Press Button 1 twice.

Once done with above step, press either button 2 or 3 to confirm. This will program the remote.
¶ Follow the procedure below for Button 2

- Now press Button 2 according to the table above. Make to match the color of your learn button. For example if your learn button is Purple, Press Button 1 twice.
- Once done with above step, press either button 1 or 3 to confirm. This will program the remote.
¶ Part 2. Program the Garage Door Opener (Program Each Garage Door using this method)
- Bring the Red Box close to the Garage Door Opener.
- Press the learn button on your garage door. The garage door LED light should stay on

- For Door 1, Press Button 1 on the remote in the Red Box and Red Box Deux. You should see the opener’s light flash twice or hear an audible confirmation (usually two clicks)
- For Door 2, Press Button 2 on the remote in the Red Box Deux to confirm the second door operation.
NOTE: After pressing the learn button, the LED usually stays on for 30 seconds. Afte completing step 2, pressing the learn button a couple of more times will help complete the process.
¶ Part 3. Setup The Red Box Deux
Wire the Red Box as follows.
- Connect the Power Barrel using the provided 12 VDC power supply.
- Connect Sensor 1, 2 and GND any door reed switch sensor for Door Open / Closed Feedback. (Optional)

Connect Sensors:
Sensor 1 & 2 – Door or Reed Sensor (Any side) GND (Shared Terminal) – Second Wire from Door or Reed Sensor
Note – If your door sensor needs polarity, make sure to match the GND to Ground or Negative Wire.
You can use a GND wire for each sensor or you can share GND. They are all bridged on the backboard.

Connect HT Module (Optional) Do this if you purchased the HT Module from Innovo. If you are adding your own, the watch the wiring, it most likely is different. If you purchased the optional Humidity and Temperature Sensor Connect it as follows
GND (Can be Shared) - Yellow Wire Data - Black Wire VCC - Red Wire
(Don’t mix the yellow and red and don’t feed VCC (red) into the Data(black). It will burn the Uni out.) |
¶ Part 4. Setup Shelly Device
The Red Box Deux uses a Shelly Uni Plus to read the open/close sensors and trigger the doors to open and close. Setup the Shelly Device using the following settings in the Shelly App:

The relay is now included in the Shelly app and registered to a Cloud Account. It can be controlled from any location where internet is available.
¶ Updating the Firmware of the Device.
Tap the device to update.
- Tap the Settings button.
- Tap the Firmware version dropdown.
- The option to enable auto-update is presented, as is the current and available firmware version. Tap Update, then tap Update again.
- The device updates
The update process may take several moments and require resetting the device. It is not recommended to perform a firmware update if the device is not physically reachable.

¶ Part 5. Driver Configuration
Download the Driver Here (You Must be logged in to download)
Install the driver as a Comm device. Choose the device.
For Innovo's Red Box Deux, Choose “Red Box Deux” from the drop down menu.
Driver Setup:
- Install the driver as a Comm device. Choose the Shelly Uni Plus (Red Box Deux). Add the IP address of the Shelly Uni Plus.
The driver will be installed under
- Input for Reed, Door, HT Sensor feedback (Sensor 3 is not currently used)
- Under Output for trigger actions

- Add the driver to security as Trigger I/O and connect the input sensor to the input and output sensor to the output trigger.
- Do this for each door configured

Add the Security tab to the desired interface and use the built-in Nice Door Control
