¶ Overview
The MagicCube V2 UI is a modern web-based interface for managing your MagicCube device. It provides access to:
- System monitoring - Real-time CPU, memory, disk, and temperature stats
- Network configuration - Static/DHCP IP settings, WiFi management
- Audio player settings - Zone configuration, volume controls, streaming names
- Home automation - Home Assistant, Z-Wave, KNX, MQTT, Homebridge
- System management - Services, updates, backups, SSH access
¶ Accessing the UI
Open a web browser and navigate to your device’s IP address or hostname:
http://192.168.0.XXX/
or
http://magiccube.local/
¶ Getting Started
When you first access the UI, you’ll see the System Stats dashboard showing real-time device metrics.

¶ First-Time Setup
- Register your device - Click “Register Device” in the navigation
- Run Setup Wizard - Click “Setup Concierge” for guided configuration
- Configure network - Set static IP if needed under “Network Config”
- Name your players - Customize streaming service names under “Player Settings”

The UI uses a tab-based navigation system with dropdown menus for related features.

¶ System Stats
The System Stats dashboard provides real-time monitoring of your device’s health.

¶ Metrics Explained

¶ Network Interfaces Card
Below the gauges, you’ll see a card showing all network interfaces:
- Interface name (eth0, wlan0, etc.)
- IP address assigned
- Connection status (up/down)
The stats auto-refresh every 5 seconds when the tab is active.
¶ Network Configuration
Configure your device’s network settings including IP address and WiFi.

¶ IP Configuration
¶ DHCP Mode (Default)
- Device automatically obtains IP from your router
- No configuration needed
- IP may change if router reassigns addresses
¶ Static IP Mode
Configure a fixed IP address:

¶ Applying Network Changes
- Select “Static” or “DHCP”
- If Static, fill in all fields
- Click Apply Configuration
- Confirm the change
- Device will apply settings and may briefly disconnect
¶ Network Reset
If you lose access after a network change: - Wait 60 seconds for automatic rollback - Or use the physical reset button on device
¶ WiFi Configuration (if available)
For devices with WiFi capability:
- Click Scan Networks to find available WiFi
- Select your network from the list
- Enter the WiFi password
- Click Connect
¶ Player Settings (If Device Supports it)
Configure audio streaming services for your MagicCube audio device.
¶ Player Names
Customize how your device appears in streaming apps:

For dual-zone devices, Zone 2 has separate names: - Zone 2 Music Player (MCPlaya-Z2) - Zone 2 AirPlay (MC-AirPlay-Z2) - Zone 2 Spotify Connect (MC-Spotify-Z2)
¶ Volume Controls
Hardware volume adjustments via ALSA:

Actions: - Drag sliders to adjust levels - Click speaker icon to mute/unmute - Reset to Default - Restore factory volume levels
¶ Network Players
Discover and view audio players on your network:
- Lists all Squeezebox-compatible players
- Shows player name and IP address
- Refresh button to re-scan network
¶ Server Pairing
Connect to a music server:
- Enter the music server IP address
- Click Test Connection
- If successful, click Save Pairing

Web-based terminal access to your device:
- Opens an embedded SSH terminal
- Login as root or dietpi
- Full command-line access
- Useful for advanced troubleshooting

¶ Software Updates
Check for and install system updates:
- Click Check for Updates
- Review available updates
- Click Install Updates
- Wait for installation to complete
- Reboot if prompted

- Device information is displayed:
- Device ID
- Hardware fingerprint
- MAC address
- Enter dealer/activation code if provided
- Click Register
- Wait for confirmation

¶ Factory Reset Instructions
Via UI: 1. Go to System > System Controls 2. Click Factory Reset 3. Confirm when prompted 4. Wait for reset to complete
Via Physical Button: 1. Hold reset button for 10 seconds 2. Device will reboot and reset
¶ Network Troubleshooting
Can’t find device on network: 1. Ensure device is powered on 2. Check Ethernet cable connection 3. Try accessing via IP address directly 4. Use network scanner to find device IP
Lost access after network change: 1. Wait 60 seconds for automatic rollback 2. If no rollback, reset network via physical button 3. Device will return to DHCP mode
