Govee Smart Power Plug B5081
Only Govee Models with Wi-Fi features are supported by this driver. As of the writing of this document, the driver supports the following model numbers (If the item is not listed below, most likely it will not function fully):
The Driver uses the Govee Cloud. An active internet connection must be present at all time
Install Govee, connect it to the cloud account and ensure it operates the Lights unit directly from the app.
Obtain an API key from Govee
Login with the account created in the Govee Home Mobile App.
From the main screen click on the User Icon, the About Us link
Then Click Apply for API Key
Fill the form with your client’s name and the reason for application. Something along the line of “I want to connect my home automation system to Govee” will work.
You will receive a successful confirmation. If not, raise a support ticket with Govee or try again.
Within a few minutes you will receive the API key by email. The email will be sent to the account holder (default account in the App). You will enter this key in the Driver configuration.
It is recommended that you follow the below installation process in order to ensure you are running the latest version of the [driver].
Open Lighting, Lighting Interface, Add New Lighting Interface
Navigate to the folder where the driver is located and Choose the Govee → OK
You’ll receive a warning that this is not a Native Elan driver, click OK
The Driver will automatically go into trial mode for 7 days. Wait for about 10 seconds and the Status will turn Green.
Set the API Key obtained in the step above
Set the Polling time – This is the time that Elan will use to sync in case light settings change outside of Elan. If Elan will be the only interface set this value as large as possible
Set the Feedback / Query delay in seconds – Because the driver uses the Govee Cloud to issue commands, some time delay is needed to sync the Elan Controls with the driver confirmation of an event. The default is 2 seconds, however, this value might need to be higher depending on the responsiveness of the cloud API
Click Apply the Get Devices. The driver will populate all devices connected to the account.
Govee currently does not support Color Temperature for Model Numbers H6160 and H6104. If the slider for ColorTemp is changed, The light will accept only one set until the light is turned off and back on again. Expect the Color Temperature to not perform well until this bug is fixed by Govee. Once the bug is fixed, the driver will automatically work.
