Although the driver doesn’t need the IP address of the NXG unit, we recommend that it’s filled out. Use a tool like Fing to discover the IP adddess.
Install the NXG-100 / 200 as instructed by the manufacturer. Videos are available here: https://getnexx.com/pages/videos. The installation document is also attached to the driver download.
Ensure the NXG unit is fully operational from the NEXX App.
A working internet connection must be on at all times. This device is controlled using the NEXX cloud.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The driver is added as a lighting driver, then it’s added in Door Controls under the Security tab. Then it’s added to each interface device as needed.
Open Lighting, Lighting Interfaces, Add New Lighting Interface. Navigate to the folder where the driver is located and choose the NEXX Device Type.
On the warning that this is not a Native Elan driver, click OK
The Driver will automatically go into trial mode for 30 days. Wait for about 10 seconds and the Status will turn Green. Fill in the IP address and the activation and click Apply.
Click on Authorize to begin the cloud authorization process
The default browser will then open to the NEXX cloud authorization login. Fill in the NEXX Garage door opener username and password. This is the same account that was used to register the device using the iOS or Android app described in the Manufacturer installation process.
If the login is successful, NEXX will ask for permission. Click on Grant to authorize the driver to access the cloud account and control the door opener.
The browser will then redirect to the Elan authorization website and a confirmation will be presented that the authentication was processed.
If any of the above fails, repeat the process starting with Step 4. If the Authorization is successful, click on Get Devices in the driver configurator.
All discovered devices will be installed automatically. Configure the options as follows:
Do NOT change the device ID, this is an automatically populated value
In the Seconds to Close / Open, measure the time it takes the garage to open and to close then populate that field with the longer of the two. Round Up.
For Example: Door requires 22 seconds to open and 27 seconds to close. The value will be 30.
Before proceeding to the next step, test the operation by clicking the Off / On button. The garage door should operate.
Open the Security Tab, Door Controls, and choose Add New Door Control. Name it and choose Type: Lighting
Under Device, Select the name of the NEXX garage door opener used in the Lighting control.
Under Input Logic, Choose Reverse
By default, security devices are not added to Elan Interfaces. They must be added manually to each interface. Add the Security Tab to the desired Interface device by going to Interface, choose the Interface Device, Security Page Layout and add the garage page to it.
You can create A custom page that shows feedback to the user. It’s highly recommended that you create this screen and have your user use it to open the door.
The Driver still shows the same operation (open or close) after the seconds to close / open window have passed. The driver will check the status of the door after each operation, if the status is the same, then the door either failed to open / close. Physically check the garage door.
The Garage door opener is not responding. Check to make sure that the opener still operates from the app. Make sure there is an active internet connection.
Garage open / close is not consistent. Make sure to wait 30 seconds between the opening and closing operations
Error Messages show up on the Feedback. Wait 30 seconds and try again.
There is a 30 to 60 seconds after opening or closing a door that the NEXX cloud will time out and return an error. The driver will try again after 60 seconds. If the error remains after 60 seconds, repeat the last action such as open or close.
Advise your client of this issue so they know how to handle it. This behavior is expected by NEXX cloud.
