The Driver uses the NuHeat Signature Cloud. An active internet connection must be present at all times.
Install NuHeat Signature and connect it to the cloud account and make sure it operates the Heating unit directly from the app.
If Elan is going to automatically manage the device, it is recommended to disable all automatic settings in the app as it will conflict with the configuration in Elan.
If automatic settings are kept, the Elan controller will update the state. However, updates can take up to the polling time seconds to sync.
Important: Each Thermostat must be added to a group in order to take advantage of On/Off (Away Mode). This is a NuHeat restriction and not from Elan or the Driver. See the Section below on how to add a thermostat to a group. If a thermostat is not added to a group, it will still function, however, it will not support OFF, and it will always revert to HEAT mode.
It is recommended that you follow the below installation process in order to ensure you are running the latest version of the [driver].
Unzip and Extract all EDRVC Files from the downloaded file into the Driver Installation folder.
Open Climate, Communication Devices, Add New Communication Device
Navigate to the folder where the driver is located and Choose the NuHeat Signature Driver.
Note: If the driver doesn’t appear under the Communication Type then make sure that the NuHeat Signature driver is extracted to the same folder where all the other drivers are installed from. It’s good practice to create one folder on the computer where all the third party EDRVC files live.
Note: If the driver still does not appear, do the following:
Extract the downloaded zip file to you EDRVC folder (the folder where all custom EDRVC drivers live)
Go to Thermostat, then add a NuHeat Signature driver. Then Delete it.
Now go back to Communications device, Add, Check the box the says show unsupported devices, the Driver should show up on the bottom.
You’ll receive a warning that this is not a Native Elan driver, click OK
The Driver will automatically go into trial mode for 30 days. Wait for about 10 seconds and the Status will turn Green. Now you can Authorize the Driver to use the account information.
Click Authorize on the bottom of the page which will open up your default web browser
Enter your user credentials and login.
Note: Innovo doesn’t receive any of this information so your username and password remain private to you and your user. This is a very secure method of connecting the thermostat to Elan.
Once you login, You’ll be prompted to authorize the account for Innovo. Choose Yes Allow.
You will then be taken back to Elan’s page to show if the authorization is successful. If the authorization is successful, you can close the web browser and go back to configurator. If this fails, repeat the process again starting with Step 6 above.
Back in the configurator, Click Yes to complete the authorization.
The driver will thenAutomatically Install
All thermostats attached to the NuHeat Signature account
Note: If you add another Thermostat, you don’t need to authorize it again, just click Get Thermostats in the Communication driver.
A default Heating/Cooling Unit.
After the drivers are installed, change settings as needed to fit the Heating Unit.
The driver uses the Native Elan Climate Interface. Turn the system on / off and schedule from the interface.
Notes: The system uses the cloud to communicate so there will be a notable delay from when a button is pushed to when the action is taken to the feedback sent back to Elan.
If the system is set to Fahrenheit, makes the same setting is applied in the NuHeat Signature App when setting up devices.
In order to take advantage of on/off functions, the thermostat must be assigned to a group. Each group can have one thermostat or more depending on your setup. Innovo recommends that at a minimum each thermostat be added to one group. Remember that if multiple thermostats below to a group, if you turn off one thermostat, all the thermostats belonging to that group will also be turned off. This is by design from NuHeat.
To Add a thermostat to a group, use the online NVent account screen. The driver will automatically pull this data.
There might be a delay of up to 10 seconds from when the command is issued in Elan to the NuHeat Signature unit responding. This is due to the time it takes to process all commands using NuHeat Signature’s cloud. This is not a delay from the driver.
If the thermostat fails to read the room temperature sensor, the driver will display a very high temperature (325), this is the value passed by NuHeat. Make sure the room temp / ambient temp is displayed properly in the unit.
