This is an official driver to connect Tempest Weather Station to Elan Controllers.
This driver uses an official API from Tempest.

- This Driver supports Weather Station
¶ Not Supported Features
- Solar has not been implemented in the driver.
¶ Driver Configuration
- The Driver doesn’t use IP addresses. That field is non-configurable
- The driver uses information retrieved from the cloud. An internet connection is required at all times the driver is in use.
¶ Configuration
- Set up the Weather Station according the manufacturer’s instructions
- Get a Token from your account at https://tempestwx.com/ as follows
Sign in to your account from the web, go to settings, Data Authorization and Create Token:

¶ Installation Process
IMPORTANT NOTE: Install the Driver under Input / Output
1. Install as a comm driver, add your Token (this is your token and will be different for each account)
2. Discover / Install. The weather station will be discovered and installed under input
3. Add and import the included interfaces under Interfaces and connect the elements (lots of elements)
4. Each station will have sense inputs - To create a trigger, use the Numeric Triggers under Input / Output
5. The only exception is the Sunset/Sunrise trigger. This is automatically calculated Boolean (Off - On means Sunrise, ON-Off means Sunset in the driver and you can create an event map directly from the input for sunrise and sunset events.

- The driver has two custom pages: Weather Forecast and Weather Now. Connect each element to the proper variable.
- The templates are included in the driver. Import them into a custom page under Interfaces
- Note: The driver includes dealer contributed templates that are icon based. To use the Icons, unzip the Icon folder in the driver, then upload the icons to the Elan controller. The viewer will automatically link the icons to the Home Page.
- Connect the elements to the matching names in the driver
- Create Event Maps for Reload button by using the build in variables for the driver under Input / Output

¶ COMMON ISSUES
¶ Driver not Activated. Wait 10 seconds after Apply
- Information not populated. Check internet connection.
- If the driver is deleted and reinstalled, the interface pages will have to be remapped. It’s best to update the driver than delete and reinstall.
¶ KNOWN ISSUES
- The drivers for the Sense Input Devices are not updating after driver update. Click on each device then click update. Check if the version changed. If devices are still not updating, delete the devices, from the Comm WeatherStationPro, discover and install again. Recreate the Event Maps.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: Do not delete the Comm or WeatherStationPro driver unless absolutely necessary. If the Communication Devices WeatherStationPro or the WeatherStation sense Input is deleted, all the Viewer Home Pages under Interface will have be remapped to the variables.
